Chapter 16

“So, how was New Orleans?” Mina asked her sister.

“It was just what we needed. That place is beautiful,” Keya said with dreamy eyes.

She can’t stop smiling. Just thinking back on the romantic time she had with her husband makes her want to return soon. She remembered the romantic dinner they shared on the waterfront. They went to a restaurant called Peristyle. The scenery was gorgeous, the food was delicious and the company could not have made it more perfect.

When they finished, she excused her as he paid the bill and told her he would be out front waiting for her. She went to the ladies room. When she came out he was standing out on the dock overlooking the water. She remembered just standing there watching him. The man looked totally at peace. The sight of him leaning on the rail was one she will remember forever.

She walked a little closer and he looked back at her.

“How long have you been standing there?” he asked as he extended his hand to her.

She took his hand and looked up at him. “Long enough to admire the beauty of my husband,” she smiled.

“Men are not beautiful,” he informed her with a slight frown.

“Alright, the sexiness of my husband,” she joked.

‘That’s better,” he says sternly before cracking a smile.

They stood and enjoyed the view awhile longer before they strolled over to City Park Boat and Bike Rentals. They decided to take a gondola ride. It was one of the most romantic things Keya had done in her life. She was out on the water at night, being held by the man of her dreams. She could not think of anything more special.

The next morning she woke just as the sun was rising. She rolled over looking for Trey, but he was not in bed. She stepped out on the balcony and saw a sight more beautiful than the day before. He was standing on the balcony admiring the water again. This time, he was shirtless. Mmmmmm! That man’s body is just to die for!

“Damn, I may need to tell Brock to book our reservations. If it will put that look in my eyes, we need to pack our bags,” Mina picks at her sister.

She loves to see her sister happy. Keya had run from love for so long, it felt good to see her actually enjoying Trey. They make a stunning couple and everyone can see the love between the two. She was just hoping that the worst was over. Keya never told her what happened, but Brock had mentioned Trey’s change in attitude. She was getting worried. Now that she sees the look in her sister’s eye, she feels better. That woman is truly in love!

“Oh shut up. It is not like you and Brock haven’t disappeared enough for stolen getaways,” Keya spits back at her sister.

“True, but I don’t think I have ever had that look.”

“Chic please. You still blush every time you mention his ass.”
